Default behavior

One default reduces random prompts

If you split daily tasks across multiple browsers or file tools, prompts and settings spread out too. Choose a default and keep it consistent for a week.

Permissions posture

Prefer “while in use” over “always”

When you grant broad access, you are committing to remembering why you did it. Narrow access reduces that mental load.

  • Change one permission only, then stop.
  • Test the app immediately after the change.
  • If something breaks, revert the last change and note it.
Attention

Make notifications quiet by default

Most apps are informational, not urgent. Quiet them and let only a few interrupt you. Your phone becomes calmer without losing usefulness.
